Reporting To: OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Main Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility and compliance of the factory H&S by implementing practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
• Review, develop and communicate all aspects of the company health and safety policies and procedures, actively promoting a culture of safe working practices.
• Investigation of all accidents and near miss incidents and recording the findings.
• Identify H&S training needs and conduct any appropriate H&S Training
• Conduct & carry out internal and compliance audits; report on findings and manage issue log through to completion.
• Review and update risk assessments as required.
• Maintenance of ISO 14001 system and control procedures and work instructions as per ISO 9001 requirements.
• Manage and maintain the emergency procedures for the factory.
• Liaise with Project Teams, Suppliers/3rd parties to agree Safe Systems of Work, standards      and systems.
• Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where     relevant.
•  Work collaboratively with the managers and team leaders to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing within their own areas of responsibility.

Personnel Specification

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
• Hold an IOSH of NEBOSH Health & Safety certificate.

Preferable Criteria:

• Previous experience in manufacturing industry
• Educated with a third level qualification or a timed served trade.
• Previous experience of ISO 14001.

CONTRACT – 39 hours per week.

Monday to Thursday – 8.00am to 5.00pm

Friday – 8.00am to 1.00pm
